The Minis are finally home!!

May 26, 2009

Well, the minis have arrived home safely.  They came in around 12:00 AM on Saturday morning.  Jason and Crystal were great and very friendly, they were my transporters.  Terri clipped Willy and boy does he have some spots on him now, not only on his butt but he is getting some on his sides too!  He also has a white blanket which I could not see in the photos of him.  Cheerio arrived looking like a dirty matted rug, but we will take care of that with a set of clippers.  For some reason she isn't shedding her winter coat like she should have been.  I know the poor baby is hot down here.  She is a real sweetie and I just love her face.  Tinker is just so much cuter in person!  (I think she is my mom's favorite).  She is definately the herd mare though!  She trys really hard to keep everyone under control and in top shape.

I am looking forward to working with them and getting them more personable with humans.  I can't wait to see what personalities they have.

Angel's Home FINALLY!!

May 4, 2009

Well, Angel arrived home safe and sound on Saturday evening.  Tom and Crystal, the transporters, were really great people!  They did a wonderful job transporting Angel and she arrived from her long journey in perfect condition.  If you ever need someone to transport your horse for you, get in touch with me and I will get you thier numbers!  They stayed in contact with me from the day before they picked up Angel to the minute they were 10 minutes from my house!  Once Angel was unloaded and in her new home, Tom and Crystal talked with me for a while and then left.  Once they pulled out, I walked to the field and just stood there staring at Angel.  I still can't believe she is home and finally in the field where I can look outside the window and see her out there.  She is a little lonely though, I can see it in her eyes, but soon the little ones will be home to keep her company.  Sunday I went out and shedded her out a little and brushed her to get some of that winter hair off her, it's like 90 degrees down here.  She hasn't changed...

Getting Things Ready

April 28, 2009

Well, I got 2 strands of fencing up last night and replaced a few of the insulators that needed replacing.  Angel will be home on Saturday, May 2nd or Sunday May 3rd right along with the furniture that was supposed to be delivered last week!!  Sounds like fun!!  Should be a hectic weekend!  The yard is still a mess because I still don't have my yard tools (in the moving van on the way down still - you know, was supposed to come LAST weekend!!).  But anyway, just trying to get things done to get my horses home finally!!

I will be going on May 16th to pick the minis up again.  I went on April 17th but didn't have anyone with me to help with them in the van and they were soo very scared and kept trying to get in the front seat.  So this time a friend of mine is going with me so she can drive back while I sit in the back with the horses to keep them calm and we can switch drivers.

The New House

April 15, 2009

Well, I am finally settled into my new house in Crawfordville, still have some puttin away to do.  The house is nothing to brag about but the property is really nice and didn't cost me an arm and a leg and there is plenty of room, grass and shade for the horses.  I have gotten the dog pen half way up for Daisy and Katie for during the day.  I still have lots of fencing to put up but at least the posts are there.  There is lots n lots n lots of yard work to do!!  So many trees down and branches everywhere and then on top of that there are 3 sheds just full of junk that needs cleaned out and then torn down, 1 of the sheds I think I can save and it will make a decent little barn with a tack and feed area.  I will post pictures of my not so new house and do before and after shots of the property.  Right now things are a little frustrating for me because I want to get things done, but all my yard tools are still in Ohio but will be down in a couple of... I was just informed by Smokie's owner that Smokie passed away over Christmas.  :(  He was a sweet boy, great with all kids.  He will always be in my heart!!  His picture is on the Photo Fun page of this website.

For some brighter news, I will be going to a mini show in Marianna Florida on Saturday with my friend Donna Winsloe who is going to help me with showing the minis next season.

Today is my dad's Birthday!!  He turns 73 today.  Happy Birthday Papaw!
